Legal
Acceptable Use Policy
Short version: run anything legal that doesn't hurt the network or your neighbours.
Last updated: 06 Nov 2026 · Applies to all MichigoVPS services.
1. Two rulebooks, one enforcement
Every server runs on an upstream infrastructure provider. You must follow our rules AND the upstream provider's acceptable-use policy. We enforce both — a violation puts your server and our entire account with that provider at risk, so suspension happens without warning for severe cases.
2. Strictly forbidden
• Network attacks of any kind (DDoS, SYN flood, brute-force, scanning of systems you don't own)
• Spam / mail-bombs / bulk unsolicited messaging
• Illegal content under Malaysian law AND the law of the server's jurisdiction
• Crypto mining without an explicitly mining-permitted plan
• Public file/photo hosting or CDN offload beyond fair use
• Reselling shared nodes as open proxies to the public

3. Fair use on "unlimited" labels
Bandwidth shown as unlimited refers to data transfer within your port speed (e.g. 100 Mbps port). Sustained abuse that degrades the node for neighbours may lead to a traffic cap conversation first, then action — we contact you before limiting anything on well-behaved accounts.
4. Enforcement ladder
Warning → temporary suspension → permanent termination without refund (§2 of Terms). We always note the clause and evidence in the ticket so you can respond. Repeated AUP strikes affect renewal eligibility.
5. Full list
The complete binding list lives in Terms of Service §2. This page explains it; the Terms govern it.
